As we all know I am a bit of a nerd. I recently got accepted into the Max Planck Honors Program at FAU. Max Planck is a world-renowned neuroscience research institute based out of Germany. They have the most Nobel prize winners out of any other research institute and they happen to a have a branch in our own backyard Jupiter Florida. They are partnered with the FAU honors college which is actually on the same campus to provide a degree program that actually allows you to work on research with Max Planck researchers.
I have been dreaming about this program for the past two years as soon as I heard about it I started working as hard as I could to build up my resume enough in order to get in and here we are! My first class which I had today was Advanced Techniques in Neuroscience, so the classes are by no means basic and most of them cover advanced neuroscience topics so I will have my work cut out for me. The best part though is that Max Planck will be present on my degree once I receive it which will go a long way when applying to jobs. My next step is to try and find a researcher willing to take me under his wing. Stay tuned!
